Originally developed by NASA for use in aerospace applications, aerogel is composed of more than 95% air and is the lightest solid material known to man. In its solid state, aerogel acts as a temperature barrier, locking out extreme cold and heat. By utilizing this technology, Apex is amazingly light and comfortable, while achieving unprecedented warmth using only 80g of insulation. Plus, Apex is loaded with 150g Sureflote® Flotation Assist Technology, making it just as safe as it is warm.
